5 DAYS WILDLIFE AND CHIMPANEE TREKKING TOUR.
Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park Today we leave early morning for Murchison falls national park. The journey is through several villages in Uganda’s countryside in Uganda with green beautiful vegetation, changes in the landscapes, and several roadside fruit and vegetable markets. You shall stopover at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. The trek can take anything from a few minutes to an hour depending on where the Rhinos are located within the sanctuary. You will receive a briefing from the ranger guide and start on your Rhino trek thereafter. After this experience, you will have lunch and then proceed to the park where you arrive later evening, check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Game Lodge / Fort Murchison Lodge / Hornbill Bush Lodge / Parkside Safari Lodge. Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on the Nile Early morning after your breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you from the hotel and start your game drive exploring the northern bank of Murchison falls in your safari vehicle. The park has different tracks where you are able to drive and enjoy a variety of animals. Capture your favorite moments in pictures of Giraffes as they move through the grasslands, buffaloes, Jacksons Hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, Lions, herds of Buffaloes, fishermen on Lake Albert, Waterbucks, etc. You will be looking for the remaining Big 4 having seen the Rhinos at Rhino Sanctuary. In the afternoon take a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile from where you shall watch different animals along the shore and continue to about ten meters from the bottom of Murchison falls – also known as ‘Devils cauldron”. This 2-hour boat journey is a great way to spend the afternoon enjoying the Victoria Nile and the several Hippos, Crocodiles, and water birds. Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above. Meal Plan (B, L, D)
Day 3: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and prepare for the long drive to Kibale Forest National park. Before the start of the 441km journey through the Albertine Rift, We drive to the top of Murchison falls where 1 km wide Nile forced into a 7-meter gap to a thunderous roar – known as the most powerful falls. There is a resident beautiful rainbow formed making a contrast with the crashing water. After the experience, we proceed to the rain forest. You shall have lunch en-route. In the afternoon take a Crater Lakes exploration hike to these beautiful crater lakes which are shaped differently, surrounded by either forests or cliffs. Lakes Nkuruba and Nyabikere are some of the crater lakes in the region. You will have great views of Ndali and Kyaninga or Mahoma Water Falls Tour. Transfer to the lodge for dinner and Overnight at Turaco tree Tops / Rweteera Safari Lodge Meal Plan (B, L, D)
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland visit Your driver-guide will transfer you to the briefing place after breakfast, he will then hand in your details and permits for registration and allocation of chimpanzee community to trek. You will then be allocated to a chimpanzee community and your ranger guide will lead you on the trek in search of this great ape. Watch the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, feed, play, and rest. In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, animals, and spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders. The swamp is also home to elusive animals such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatungas. You will also encounter community members and engage in activities like iron smelting and basket weaving. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight Meal Plan (B, L, D)
Day 5: Morning visit to Mabere ga nyina mwiru and Transfer to Kampala and Departure After your morning breakfast, drive through Fortportal Town to Nyakasura for an excursion at the "Amabere ga Nyinamwiru" caves and "Lake Saka crater" walk. Small waterfalls are seen on the nature walk through the mythological caves. The legends of the caves are more impressive than the caves itself which holds many stalactites. Afterwards the guide can take you on a Walk to the top of Lake Saka a Kigere crater Lakes, with a beautiful view over the these Crater lakes, Fort Portal plateau and Rwenzori Mountains. After the excursion drive back to Kampala with your lunch enroute and on arrival transfer to your hotel or transfer to Entebbe Airport for your outbound flight. Meal Plan (B, L)
